    she moves in mysterious ways

Communication is a funny thing, got a text the other day for someones email, i then email that address over and then text the person to say I have sent an email.

Overall I feel my life is descending rapidly into a dilbert strip.

    f*ck de f*ck F*ck

How is it that you can have really good days and really bad days. I knew today was going to be bad when I woke up feeling very much out of shape. I then get to work and find people bitching oon me about the state of my second desk. Then the woman I am semi-interested in gets all agro on me for em doing my job. Major stressville then insues. The whole department goes out gor lunch, where she tells someone about something I thought she was only telling me.
Well to conclude the rant, I realise that I have way too much work to do, so yeah, the days of doing nothing are over. Really hope someone appreciates that I don't actually get enough money for this.

In over news yesterday I signed all the paperwork for my mortgage, I'm an adult. It sucks.
    March 07

    I understand your every move

My brother has been off ill from work with man-flu and Matt has had it sort of again, this got me thinking, "what's the deal with man flu?"
I have taken the anthropolical view of this and believe that man-flu is so much worse than normal flu becuase it effects men. Yeah slightly obvious isn't it, but think about it back when we were living in caves who would be doing the hunting? yeah the man. So what would happen if he got sick? there would be no food coming in and Ugina and the littles Ugs would all be starving and stuff. This means that the man needs much more attention to get back on his feet that much quicker, this means that he has to let everyone else know how sick he is.

In conclusion if you have a male friend with man flu you should stop eating til he gets better so you know who Ugina feels.

you don't even feel the pain

lent is upon us! for this prestigious ocassion I like to challenge myself and so this year I am giving up crack cocaine, murdering children, deep sea diving and alcohol. 3 of these 4 things will be easy, but I do love the deep sea diving.

    once, twice, three times a...

Well it's been a while since I updated this.

Overall my life hasn't progressed much, I still go to work everyday altough in a ford focus instead of a 106, to earn 18% more than I did last year and with the possibilty that sooner or later I will be coming back to http://www.mho.co.uk/props/dacorum/1-bed-apartment-moorview-house-hemel-hempstead instead of parents house.

So same old same old really.

    Also two weeks to www.chilternchallenge.co.uk

    peace out
    November 28

When the moon hits your eye...

    So... how you been?

Not much happened over the last week really, went out a bit, stayed in a bit. thats about it.
I have a new game for the 360 - lego star wars 2, it rocks, hardcore style. its mentally challenging enough and humourous enough to keep you playing for hours on end with out thinking that there is only so much repition of levels you can do.

Played squash on saturday - tournament game. If I played against the others the way I played against this guy on saturday then I would have beaten them, still wouldn't have beaten this guy but there we go.
    Losers plate here I come.
In a faintly amusing turn of words, the door coming off of the sqaush court is a technical issue (yes seriously, I asked them what was wrong with the computer system when they said they had a technical issue).

Scout meeting tonight for district camp next year, fun.

    Nearly forgot grunmps;
police who drive badly - lack of signalling and speeding is really not accpetable when you are tyring to uphold the law. especially when you over take me. Bastard
    November 21

    Annual Review

In my managers words "extremely happy with you this year, couldn't ask for any more on the technical side. Keep working hard."

    "Keep working hard"....LMAO.

In other news, it was bloddy cold camping this weekend, my forehead is starting to peel from the frost burn. Nice.

Next grump; incompetence - so you say you were going to do something but didn't because you are old and lazy but get away with it. Thats not fair on everyone else.

The commercialisation of Christmas - most people are now aethists, so why do they celebrate the birth of Christ? I would honestly not be fussed if everyone were to stop sending and recieving presents. (Except for my brithday MARCH THE THIRD).

Bad breath - it smells, brush your teeth more.

    Matt....
    November 17

    Squish

Has another competitive game last night. Lost 3-1, mostly because of lots of unforced errors. Not sure what you can really do about them except practise more.
Also ran into the wall really hard elbow first, it smarted.
    November 16

    Dance dance dance

I am switching back to updating weekly, most likely every Thursday morning.

I can do this because at the moment I haven't got much work to do and Thursday mornings seem to be particullarly dull. Must be the relative excitment of Wednesday night's when we go to the quiz and come 4th.

    I'm adding things to my list of things that make me grumpy;
Will - he is quite blatently an idiot. When its my week to drive in I get there everyday at 7.30am. He knows this. Yet every few days he is 10 minutes late. Today when I got there he wasn't even awake. Then after 15minutes of sitting there he phones me to say he can't find his glasses. Well maybe if he got up earlier he would have been ready on time.
Consequentially I only had 2 minutes instead of my normal 30 to settle in before pretending to work.
He then came in 20 minutes later.
I really hope he doesn't become an external sales engineer and speak to anyone important or the company will find its sales dramatically reduced.

Fussy eaters - Its not natural to be picky about what food you eat. Its either good for you or it isn't, theres no reason to not eat something based on ethics.

The idiot who stole my pen - enough said really.

Matt do me proud and top those.

    November 09

    Whoa

Didn't realise it had been so long since I updated, sorry.

Long and short of it is that I have been doing the same old stuff; playing squash with Neil, going to the pub, doing the quiz, working (or my equivalent there of).

New stuff that I have been doing in the last month; entered a squash competition at my gym (more on that later) also I have seen a couple of firework displays which were good.

The competition so far has involved playing one game where I was playing well, making every shot being in place for the next one etc etc. however my racket wasn't quite feeling it, every time the ball hit it there would be an unnatural feel to the flight of the ball, conclusion - my racket is haunted, time to buy a new one. and some shorts...

On the plus side, hit my opponent in the balls.

Matt recently did his volume 3 of grumpy old men, here's my top 10 grumps at the moment.

    1. Drivers - all of you get off my roads. Whether you are driving too slow, too rude, too stupid it doesn't matter you shouldn't be driving. Get off so I can get to work in the 30 mins it's meant to take, not the 50 it does.

    2. My car - I want to get a new one, so I think I am just noticing the physical flaws in this one more. It still goes like a bat out of hell but the wing mirrors are starting to irritate me.

    3. Chavs - Why are these idiots allowed to exist, can we round them up and drive them off a cliff, or put them in a cage type thing.

    4. People who get things they don't deserve.

    5. House prices - I want to leave home, seriously can't afford to.

    6. Not being paid enough to buy a house, or decent car or helicopter. Damn it.

    7. Work - I think there is a lack or professionalism in the office, no one seems to have a firm understanding of how an office should run, how people should be managed, how roles should be defined etc. All basically leads to the fact that are managers aren’t that good. I could do a much better job.

    8. Drivers - worth saying twice. Particularly old women who go at 20 in a 40 zone. GET OFF THE ROAD.

    9. Women - You know you deserve it.

    10. Matt - making me want to write a list and realising that I'm not grumpy enough.

I'll start to update more regularly, promise.

    October 08

Wear something red and sexy so I will know its you.

I know I haven't posted in a while, been about doing this and that but not too much worthy of commenting on really. Mostly over the last couple of weeks I have been doing scout things, helping here and there with various activites.
This is giving me the opportunity to meet new people which is always good, also I am getting plenty of the great outdoors, giving my immune system the strength it needs to not get man flu which is ramaging work at the moment.
Nothing much on the cards at the moment, therefore my next post might be awhile.

    additions

lacking in additions I ave been,
due to the lack of me being seen,
offf to foreing lands to explore,
    please forgive me i implore.

since we last spoke I have been to japan,
i must say coming back I am a fan
the trip was good and inslightful,
    the culture is quite delightful.

an example of what would be said by me,
if not in poem i be telling thee,
you see anll this reason and rhyme,
    doth take a bit of time;

    "Breif summary of my trip to japan;
The flight out was pretty good for me really, turned out that the person sitting between me and Fritz (insurance broker from London) had cancelled at the last minute which meant that I had a bit of extra space for the take of, we then offered the seat to the pretty J girl in front of us who would have otherwise had to have shared the row with a screaming baby and its parents. As it turned out the baby ended up being pretty good and wasnt too noisy. Bonus.
Didn't really get much jet lag flying out, I think it was a combination of getting some sleep on the plane and going to bed early ish on Sunday night.
Monday we met the Yanks, they were not as brash or loud as I was expecting and that in itself was a good thing. The reason for them not being stereotypical americans was found out on that first day; they were all seriously clever people. Only a few years older than me and havign only 6 months to a year more experience at Hamamatsu  than me they seemed to be much more proffesional than us Brits. I foudn out that they had a slightly diffrerent sense of humnour to me but we all got on well.
On the first day lunch was at a revolving sushi place, as is coming into style iun the UK. Eash plate only got 50p so we all ate our fill without worrying about the cost. I only found one thing that I didn't particullary like, and it was a fruit, whats up with that?
In the afternoon we came across a video of a product we are due to realese soon and its application. The product is a camera capable of 1000 frames a second (40 time faster than the human eye I believe) and it was attached to a robotic arm that was capable of cathing a soft ball perfectly everytime that it was dropped near it. Cool to watch, we also saw some of the more run of the mill products; blood oxygen monitoring stuff, dark boxes, holohraphs for developmental optical memory storage etc.
That night we went out to what can only be described as an indoor BBQ grilll. It was good to eat and the atomsphere was good. The establishment had the menu all other the walls, but it was more a case of point at the thing you wanted cooking, then watch it being cooked on the grill in front of you.
Tuesday found us at Systems, this is not my real area of concern however I am privlidged that if the rest of the Sys department is off I get to answer thier enquiries if I can. So the day found us not really having to concentrate too hard, which was nice. We also got to see some familar products for me.
We were taken out to a Shabou Shabou restraunt, that if you have recieved my little report will know, is a place where you boil thinly sliced beef in boiling water. This was a really good meal, helped a lot by the two lovely ladies sitting around me who asked about my Japanese vocabulary and found it amusing (highly) that I know how to call someone a pervet in 3 different ways, but couldn't grasp that the way you say thank you was dependant entirely of the situation. Weridos.
Wednesday to friday was ETD time. I would very much like to take my career down the path of working soley for ETD (two reason; the people in the UK who sell them and I undestand the products implicitly) Traingi was cool, the better bit was getting to see the products being made, by hand, indicvidually - Cool.
Going out with ETd was an adventure, they like to drink, unfortuneatly for them they are lacking the lymphocytes (or something) that help resist the effects of alcohol, which means I can see them drink for drink and still be fine. The poor fools.
The weekedn found us at Kyoto staying at a Ryokan hotel. This is the traditional paper wall affairs, where you sleep on a futon and everythign like that. I think this was wasted on us as we didn't really take advatage of the situation (might be due to the fact that someone lost the name of the hotel). None of us took advatage of the natural spring baths at the hotel, and I sleep on a futon normally, so the whole experience amounted to us having to share a room.
We went for a tour of the shrines around Kyoto which was nice, but doing a whole day of them was a touch excesive as there is onlyl so much variation to the theme as it were. (Some pictures will be put up).
We went back to Hamamatsu on the sunday and spent the afternoon walking about having a look at the shops etc. Theres not much to it for what amounts to the city centre of one of the most commercially important regions of Japan (Yamaha, suzuki, toyota and honda are all based around the area).
Mon to wednesday was spent with solid state, I thought the lectures were abit boring and there was a lack of much else to do. Altough we did get to go in a clean room and take some non working samples (which are now at work to be used in displays).
Going out with SSd was fun, they are not as heavy drinking as ETD but we still had a good time and we went to kareoke twice with them. I only sang a couple of numbers, Hakuna matata and Superman (counting crows) which required no actual tune, being as I can't sing.
There is something disturbing about the karake bars, they are chaperoned by middle aged women who constantly top up your drink, I don't find this to be that nice as its slightly concerning to think that someone is deliberatly trying to get you drunk so that you spend more money. Meh, the money wasn;t mine, and as I cottoned onto what they were doing I switched to coke pretty early on. Just in case they didn't wan't us leaving...
Breif meeting on thursday, then I travelled to the airport and stayed in a near by hotel overnight before leaving on the Firday.
Perfect flight back, again there was no one in the seat next to me, the seat next to that was filled by the kind of girl that you see walking down the plane aisle and think "I hope she is next to me!" - result. The issue was that she started to cry as we were taking off, logic predicted she had left someone special at the gate, best not to interfere. Eye candy is still always good.
Watched films all the way back, including the ever amazing Robin wIlliams in RV. Thats going to be a classic one day. Shortly after hell has frozen over. Luck number slevin was a good film with lots of clever witty dialogues and I really enjoyed it. I will buy a copy of it when I find it somewhere. Davinci code was ok, not great, but nevermind cant have them all. X men 3 was good as always, Famke almost distracted me from the girl next to me, close run thing.
Then I was back to sunny old england, the trips weather had been somewhat overcast, and there had only been a couple of times when I had to wear my sunnies.
Saturday I was doing my bit on the beaver fun day by helping to run the assult xourse. Everything went well. Jet lag kicked in at 9 when I pretty much passed out in my bed fully clothed.
Sunday I went to the gym to do the first bit of exercise in two weeks and found that I was trying to hard too fast and had to admit defeat after 40mins of running. I will start again soon.
Then off to Leeds. I gave a presentation on X-ray products on the monday, I took roughly 5 mintues ot give my ten minute presentation, my first proffesional one. I had no clue as to what I was meant to be talking about and giving the audience wasn't even sure I should have been giving one. All very strange. I will do better next time - whats important is that I know I wasn't that good and need to improve.
This week has flown by at work, I havne't been too busy as Kelly has been an absolute star whilst I was away and pretty much done everything I had to do. Well worth getting the extra presents for her.
Off to Weymought next week for an actual holiday."

So if I were not to rhyme
    this would be my crime
    hope you reas it alll
    and have had a ball

    Peace out

    Adding at work

    Now here's a quirk
I have found how to add at work
My blog will now be updated more
of this you can be sure

    I have been busy socially
the decline in entries the reason this be,
    Whilst still at work
    I wear a smirk
    for doing nothing is me

Activities range from squash to camping to parking
so you see my time is not spent larking.
With the minutes I find untaken
    I play baldurs gate unbraken.
the time in my life is never spent marking.

off to Japan I will go
My plane leaves on the morrow
a two week gap there will be
I hope you all miss me.
Dont worry I share your sorrow.

Factories and production during the day
I hope I do not get in the way
shrines and such at the weekend
pictures to this site I will send.
For all this an increase to my pay?

More entries will come of this be sure
I will choose my moments when all else is a bore.

    August 10

Take the highs with the lows

    time for another update,
although this is set in no mandate
    To make my self clear
i will be using poetry to bring you cheer
this will become apparent in time,
as you read further down this rhyme.

    All is well with me,
I'm as content as can be,
work is as usual a doss
not many people about, including the boss.
off to Japan in a fortnights time,
some hand luggage would be sublime.

last night we did the quiz,
where we proved not to do the biz,
    a poor place we came,
no one but our selves to blame,
iron and aluminium we messed up,
and that blonde girl with the pup.

altogether the answer we did not get,
    a low place we met,
maybe next week we will do better,
otherwise to Wim I should write a love letter?
    He seems interested in me,
although he is barking up the wrong tree.

    Other than this little twist
    not much is a miss(t)
life will go on as it always does
time seems like a ball of fuzz
all the days are merged into one
    and they all seem fun.

The end of my rhyme is nigh,
I hope I leave your spirtis high
to write a poem for this blog
is not actualluy much of a slog.
the next couple entries will poems be,
how long this will last we shall see.
    August 07

    tale of woe

It sometimes is not the things that are said,
but what is left out instead,
they came seem inconsiquential at the time
but then you can put them in a rhyme.

The case of upmost note for today
is the game of squash and how to play
the rules are written in stone
but nowhere does it tell you of the accidents prone

A ball to the back is not that bad
a racket to the face hurts a tad
knees and ankles are puched to the max
so much so the morning after everything cracks.

the long and short of this poem
is that there is no way of knowing
when and where something will strike
if missed are the rules and alike.

    Not the norm

I'm just goinjg to say I have done the usual since the last update and leave that there.

I am subscribed to the free yahoo horoscope service, did this because it gives me something to read and think about for five minutes every morning and its nice to have an idea of whats coming up in the day. However I dnon't really take it seriously, this may be because several sundays in a row I have been told about things that are going to happen at work. I dont work sundays. Another good reason not to believe anything that is written in these tiny articles designed to rule your life is that no two, on the smae day, agree with each other. Whilst one is telling me that I will be have a day where I feel mentally connected with someone and that I will be finnishing thier sentances etc. another will be telling me that I will be feeling lonely today and a third will be telling me how stressed I am. I dont get stressed.
Altogether the moral is read your horoscope and have a laugh at its expense, but please bare in mind that someone somewher actually believes this tripe - the author.

Another thing in my life right now is http://www.questionablecontent.net/ and from this I have been thinking about sterotypes and how do people fit in. Mostly I have been thinking that if any genre was to appeal to me it would be emo. I would love to have that much nothing ness to moan about. For example playing darts I could be all like "AHH I have missed my number like happiness has missed my soul", when choosing an outfit it would have to be "Black like the extenionsalism that is my mood". And when a moth flies in well that is just a revelation on how all life is futile as we are all just attracted to the light that is happiness but when we get there it burns us. -See I could be emo. Or I could be me and be happy. hmm

I listened to MTV2 yesterday at about 6 and they were playing some good stuff, which is unsual. This stems from me being able to watch TV on the same monitor as my pc as I now only have the one screen which is clever enough to have picture in picture. So I can now hold a conversation and watch cartoons. Not that I would, love you all too much to do that.

    Peace out
    July 31

He's been there since the very start, my angel Gabriel

Sorry I let it slip over the last week, not sure why, lets play catch up shall we?
Tuesday, worked - gym - network running scout shop, it's all good, enjoyed the nothingness.
Wednesday, worked - pub quiz, we didn't get any money this week, mainly due to the inane picture round and a couple of slip ups, theres always next week.
Thursday, worked - sqaush, then the nothingness came and ate me again.
Friday, travelled to London met up with Liz from uni, we chatted on the train up to Liverpool to see Andy, which was nice. Got to Andy's went to the garden sat and drank tea for hours, was nice and cool, the kind of thing I like. Had a curry for dinner and watched the first three episodes of Tenth Kingdom. That is a good little program there and I would recommend that people made the effot to see it.
Saturday was spent chilling at Andys and we had a BBQ in the evening, all very pleasent.
Sunday, came back to Hemel, then went for a walk. Its nice to walk around here your close enough to home to get back quickly if needs be, but your also outside of the town, which gets you away from all the chavs that live here. Went out in the evening and came second in the plough quiz, its based on family fortune "top5" questions and is semi difficult as you have to guess more about other people than what the answers will be.

Today, work up early even though I didn't have work to go to (I'm trying to use up my holiday and failing). Then went to town and did female shopping man style, it involves going to every shop you want to go to but not having to buy anything or having to spend any longer than anyone wants to there. I mentally spent some money but in fact only spent a fiver as I need to check my funds before I buy anything, ladies take note, you can always say no to that dress.
As I came home empty handed but in need of an mp3 played, mine died, I went to another retail outlet - it sucked, pretty much full of useless goons and overpriced crap. This leaves me with the only real option - the internet. So apart from drinking coffee with freinds today could have been spent in bed and everything ordered online. How long will shops last?
Sqaush tonight, going to practice ducking now...

    Peace out.
    July 24

    Black magic woman

    Its that time again.
I believe I left you on Thursday, therefore the whilstle stop tour that is my blog on my life shall proceed from Friday.
Pleasent enough day, went to work managed to not do much in a spectacular way, ended it by goign out for a drink with some of the peeps that I work with, which is always nice. Its also nice to have a drive with someone you know shares opinions with you but you dont get much time to talk about them because of who might be around, I think the term is gossip. Anyway Eb is cool and we decided the new girl at work is hot but we havn't cracked whether she is taken or not, my philosophy of slow and steady worked well last week and progress was made in our communications. I will keep it up and let you know.
One thing that is surprising me is that lots of my male freinds don't agree with me on what the ideal woman should look like, shallow I know but still you have to talk about something.

Anyway after a drink came back to Hemel from Ware (where is Ware, why are you not aware of where Ware is?) then went and saw superman. Have to say it is a good film, acting is up to scratch and the plot is good enough to keep me occupied.
I will say however that the messiac references are only really there if you are looking for them, sorry to disagree with you Geoff, but I don't think the film was trying to persuade everyone that Superman was a modern day Jesus.

Saturday was spent in bed in the morning then some fun, we (the network and I - thier chairman) went to lake Willen, which is really nice, to go climbing on aerial extreme (google it). This is basically a set of wire 14m in the air that you traverse, its a good experience, however I dont have any form of vertigo so the adreline wasnt really pumping. Maybe if they let me go round without the safety rope.... next time:)
In the evening went to Sange's for a BBQ - good times.

Sunday was a usual sunday chilled, achieved little did nothing etc etc. Then in the evening went to the Plough and won the quiz, again.

Which brings us to today. Played squash in the evening after an easy day at work. Matt hit me in the face, was funny, good serve on my part, poor duck on my part too.
As for now I am sitting in my towel with the incense burning and the candles flickering listening to Santana thinking "Life is good".

    Peace out.
    July 20

Everything I do I do it for you.

Last update was just before golf. I didn't win but having played the course a few times before I was asked to play left handed. Didn't do too bad considering. Demonstrated my prowess with the cricket bat in the park :) much joy.
The evening was cool, went round to Ami's house for her birthday, altogether was a cool affair, others were drinking in a chilled way and the night progressed well.
Sunday morning was spent doing what any man should do sunday morning - cleaning the car. It now doesn't have half a tree in random paper and no longer has enough plastic bottles to keep it afloat, therefore its clean.
Sunday eve was good went to carters steam fair, it seems to have shrunk in my old age, but ho hey was still good fun. Just missed out ringing the bell on test your strength, yes the big one. Then to the pub, kudos to James and Sean finnally getting together and buying a boat, big day for them...

Monday was ok, worked hard, played hard etc.

Tuesday was cool, had a random day off so went to Ikea in London with Neil. Good shop that, could do with a bed that I would actually want to sleep in and would fit in my room. On the plus side sorted the kitchen out, stainless steel drawers etc, stone effect tiles with underfloor heating, down lighters. Come round when I have it sorted, will look good.
Tuesday evening was very good, first network meeting with me in charge and it went well:) Crate stacking/climbing is cool. so is playing jenga with someone on top of it. Then Alan made a roaring fire and we "cooked". my mince was done but the raw potatoe and carrot was sort of dragged the whole dish down.

Wednesday at work was ok, we came third in the quiz.

Thursday, work had a surprise for me, I am going to be taught technical stuff for systems division. Even more responsibility, I really hope come October I get at least £10 rise for all this. Stuff that I demand my own base on the moon. (Actually I am going to go for my own corner desk with window, here's hoping). Then played some squash, 5 people are too many for 40 mins of sqaush don't feel like I got the work out my body needs. Options? I think Neil is onto something with trying to eliminate people by piledriving the ball into them.

Tomorrow is another day. Should have some work to do, going to go for a drink and then onto the cinema to watch superman.

    Peace out.
